CASSETTE 5: SIDE A

Hi everyone!
The entry today deals with cassette 5 - side A. My task was to sum up what happens on cassette 5A.

This fifth cassette (side A) is dedicated to the ninth person on Hannah's list, Clay Jensen.
Clay meets Tony, who knows about Hannah's tapes.
The two boys sit together in Tony's car and listen to Cassette 5, side A. Hannah tells him that Clay isn't one of the 'bad' reasons, rather the only 'positive' one.
She finds Clay always interesting and attractive. The cassette describes an important party, that Clay and Hannah were both at. Before, Hannah walks past her old house and feels very sad.
At the party, Hannah and Clay became closer, they talked together and shared a kiss. But Hannah pushes Clay away and seems very confused.
Both of them are despondent, bewildered and some kind of sad. Hannah leaves the room and talks no longer to Clay.

See you soon!

CASSETTE 3: SIDE B & CASSETTE 4: SIDE A

Hi everyone!
My task today was to write a letter to Zach commenting on his actions (after listening to the tapes).

Dear Zach!
I am so disappointed. I mean I never really like your personallity but I thought you are leastwise some kind of social.
Do you ever heard something about privacy? I don't think so!
You haven't the permission to read all of these little messages from Hannah and stash these notes.
I know you wouldn't understand it but these little compliments could change Hannahs mood and self-doubt.
Yes Zach... we just can't change the past but please think about the reason for her suicide! Zach! You are also a part of it.

                          Clay

CASSETTE 2: SIDE B

Hi everyone!

The entry today deals with cassette 2 - side B. Now I want to present my opinion about Tyler's behavior. So the central question is: What would you like to say to him (Tyler)?

First of all I have no words for it... In my opinion Tyler seems like an really unreasonable and uneducated boy without any decency.
He spied Hannah every single day and doesn't care about her feelings or rather her privacy.
Whether I could talk to Tyler, I would like to say him that it was such a big mistake to spied Hannah.
Furthermore I would like to ask him what his target was and if it was nice for him to sat into a raspy bush.
Have pains been worthwhile? I don't think so!
There are so many questions to answer...Hannah was such an innocent girl so why do you select her? Why do you take cover in front of her house? Why do you want to alienate Hannah? Tyler? Why?
I think you never can give me an answer, right?

There are so many mistakes you've made, but it's too late now to say sorry...Tyler!

See you soon :)

CASSETTE 2: SIDE A

Hey everyone!

My task today was to write a short summary of cassette 2 - side A.

This second cassette (side A) is dedicated to the third person on Hannah’s list, Jessica Davis. When Hannah first moved to town, there were two other new kids, Alex Standall and Jessica Davis
Miss Antilly arranged a meeting with Hannah and Jessica, hoping they’d become friends.
Hannah said that she and Jessica were both embarrassed that Miss Antilly was trying to pair them up, but they got along anyway. That same afternoon, Hannah and Jessica took the bus to Monet's Garden, a coffee shop. At the coffee shop, Hannah and Jessica met Alex and he becomes part of the group.
As the three members of the group make other friends, they stop meeting with each other at the coffeehouse until Jessica approaches. Hannah told her something about taking the blame for the breakup if that's what Jessica wanted to hear, but the rumors weren't true.
After that, Jessica smacked and scratched Hannah over the eye. Her nail broke off in Hannah's skin ans left a scar. In the end Hannah sayed something about her funeral... but there was no funeral!

see you soon :)

1st blog entry "13ReasonsWhy"

Hey everyone!

This blog is created within a school project dealing with the novel "Thirteen Reasons Why".
Today the post deals with a short personal comment on cassette 1B.

Task: Comment on Hannah's "second reason". Can you understand her anger/humiliation?

It was such an embarrassing situation for Hannah. The list itself was her least problem... the only problem was the performance from her classmates. Everyone thought that they may decide about Hannah's body, so I really understand her scruple and fear.
Hannah's life changed because of a list. Also I think it's very difficult for her to know that everyone is only interested in her body and not in her personality. Nobody was interested in Hannah's feelings... she only seemed as an insensible girl without any kind of self-determination. But I am also surprised that she does not search for any help or good friends to talk about her nasty problem.
So in the end I think it was a very bad experience with awkward results.
